PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION (PTA)
The PTA sponsors "NEW" and some "OLD" programs and events throughout the year for your children. Keep you eyes open for the PTA Flyers, Quarterly Newsletter and Calendar of Events in your child's backpack.

Some of these programs need parent volunteers, if you wish to volunteer, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail the PTA.

Phonics 2 - Intermediate Level is a great tool for grade school classrooms or computer labs. Eight karaoke-style songs help teach students the rules of phonics with fun graphics and animation. Kids listen to the pronunciation of words and the software provides visuals as words are formed on the screen, syllable by syllable.

The software is organized into a phonics review section, a games and songs section, and a section for parents and teachers. It includes 18 games involving letter blends, digraphs, rhyming words, synonyms, homonyms, diphthongs, compound words, antonyms, reading, and spelling. Kids earn gold and silver stars as they glide their cursors over letter blends and listen to well-pronounced words and songs which help them to learn basic vowel and consonant sounds. They can also learn hard and soft letter sounds by listening to the pronunciations and viewing visual clip art examples of the letters.

By visiting the button bar at the bottom of the screen, you can select the Movie icon for many of the activities. This allows you to use an overhead projector and computer to review material with your entire class.
