ANTICIPATED VACANCIES (Sept. 2008)

 The following vacancies are anticipated for the 2008-09 school year.

Basic Skills Teacher (Elementary) -  Language Arts & Math

 This assignment is for Jefferson School and Most Sacred Heart.  It is available September 1 – Dec. 23, 2008.  New Jersey Elementary School Certification with a major or Highly Qualified rating in math or language arts is required.

Basic Skills Teacher (Secondary) – Language Arts (English)

This is a secondary (Jr./Sr. High School) school assignment, grades 7 - 12. A NJ Secondary School English certificate is required.  

Grade 5 Language Arts Teacher  

This is a departmentalized language arts assignment in the Frank Gavlak School.  NJ Elementary School Certification with a major or second certificate in middle school or secondary school English or HQ rating is required.

Grade 3 Teacher

This is third grade assignment in Gavlak School for a teacher on leave.  It is available September 1 – Dec. 23, 2008.  A NJ Elementary School Certificate is required.

Spanish Teacher

This is a one year replacement.  NJ certification in Spanish is required.

Custodian

A vacancy exists in the first shift, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm at Jefferson School.

 Office Clerk (Superintendent’s Office)

This is a part-time (under 30 hours) position from Sept. 1 – June 30 with approximately 75 additional hours in the summer months.  The hours are 8:30 am – 3:15 pm with an hour lunch.  Health benefits are not provided.  

Speech Teacher

This is a district-wide assignment that also includes Most Sacred Heart of Jesus School.  A NJ Speech Language Specialist Certificate is required.

Substitute Teachers (All Levels)

 NJ Substitute Teacher Certification required.

 All Coaching Positions/Co-Curricular Event Personnel  

(Timekeepers, scorekeepers, ticket collectors, announcers, etc.)

Boys’ Varsity Basketball Coach

 This is for the 2008-09 season.  Teaching experience and a New Jersey teaching certificate is preferred, although a substitute teaching certificate may suffice.  

Student Body Activities Coordinator (Jr./Sr. High School)

 Coordinates all the jr./sr. high school non-athletic student activities.  Oversees fundraisers.  Is required to be in attendance at the activities when appropriate.  Compensation is $4,005, paid at the end of the year.

 Grade Ten Class Advisor

 Compensation is $2,075, paid at the end of the year.  Candidate must be a junior-senior high school teacher.

 Grade Seven Class Advisor

 Compensation is $1,740, paid at the end of the year.  Candidate must be a junior-senior high school teacher.

 Ex-Libris (Yearbook) Literary Advisor

 Coordinating the format, design and submission of material for the 2009 WHS yearbook.  Must be computer literate.  Compensation is $2,050, paid at the end of the year.
