We are pleased to inform you that the Wallington Board of Education will be participating in the National School Lunch Program’s Seamless Summer Option (SSO) to provide free meals for all students during the 2021-2022 academic school year.
Your child(ren) will be able to receive free breakfast / lunch at no charge.
Even though the district is providing free meals to all students throughout the 2021-2022 academic school year, the Application for Free and Reduced - Price School Meals is still available and used to determine eligibility for P-EBT benefits and other state fundings and state aid programs.
Completion of this is especially important since a portion of state financial aid to all local school districts is based on the number of students who are ELIGIBLE for free/reduced meals. Therefore, if you are eligible, it is critical that you complete the lunch application form carefully even if you do not want the meal(s). Please note that only one application needs to be filled out per household. If you have received a Notice of Direct Certification for free meals, do not complete the application. But let the school know if any children in your household are not listed on the Notice of Direct Certification letter you received.
Families with a SNAP or TANF case number need to complete Step 1 and follow instructions. Please include your complete case number and do not leave any letters or numbers out. This does not require you to receive a free meal. It only indicates your eligibility, which increases our State Aid.
Applications will be available on the district website www.wboe.org under Genesis Parent Portal
Breakfast will be served beginning Wednesday September 8, 2021
Hours of service - (Jefferson and Gavlak from 8:00 am to 8:30 am)( WHS from 7:45 am to 8:15 am)
